A Milestone Moment for Our Resurrected Family Business

I’m buzzing to tell you that Rusty Restorations has been shortlisted for the UKStartUp Awards 2024 in the Manufacturer and Engineer category. It’s like the Glastonbury for businesses, so you can imagine how chuffed I am!

Reflecting on Our Journey

It all kicked off when I decided to bring back the family business that had shut down back in 2011. We were known as Amos Bros back in the day, making everything from ornamental ironwork fencing to those doecrative ironwork gates at Alnwick Garden. Restarting the business wasn’t just about making money—it was about keeping the family legacy alive.

The Path to Recognition

So, I saw this competition on LinkedIn, filled out a load of paperwork and didn’t think much would come of it. But then, out of nowhere, I got the news that we’d made it to the regional finals. The winner’s going to be announced on May 8th, and if we nail that, it’s off to the nationals.

Looking Ahead with Hope and Dedication

It’s cracking to get this far, and I’m dead hopeful about moving on to the next round. This nod really means a lot. It shows that all the hard graft in ornamental ironwork gates and those decorative hand railings is paying off.
